... and you will get screwed either way !!!
With the passage of the TrumpCare health plan in the house of representatives, there are lots of articles written about 'payback' for the Republican party from all of us American voters who are upset with the further destruction of our already lousy healthcare system.
The articles imply that the voters will remove those members of congress who supported this very outrageous healthcare plan as direct 'payback' for their cruel vote.  Some articles go so far as to mention specific names of congress persons who are in districts that are already weak for Republicans and are 'ready' to go Democratic.
Here is where history is instructive.  The people of this country are now and have been for decades, very unhappy with the results of the laws that are passed in congress.  Congress is rated very low in performance grades by virtually all Americans.
Most likely, Republican congress people are not at all concerned about this issue keeping them from winning their seats in congress at the next election.  There may be some small percentage of 'casualties', but we know from experience it will not be a major happening.
The average American voter is (A) stupid; or, (B) apathetic; or, (C) forgetful; or, whatever else there might be that keeps them from holding their representatives accountable.  We all know, and are reminded every time congress votes, that large corporations control everything that congress does.
Regardless of the whining and crying over the passage of TrumpCare in the house, and regardless of the media's fondness of predicting voter 'payback', nothing will actually change.  Here is a sampling of articles that make it appear as if the average citizen's outrage will result in a change.  For one who believes the gist of these articles, there's a person down the street selling lots on the far side of the moon...

Voters Think Congress Stinks ---congress rarely gets as much as 40% approval --- and reached the peak as a result of the attack on the World Trade Center, something unrelated to congressional performance (patriotism skyrocketed after 9/11 and everything American suddenly looked good, even congress)
While the Republicans celebrated throwing people off their health insurance with Bud Lights, Democrats had a little celebration of their own, thinking that they would be set to gain politically in 2018 and 2020 from the misery this bill is sure to cause many millions of Americans. Such an assumption ignores, of course, all the other times that Democrats thought they had it in the bag, only to suffer a humiliating defeat.

It doesn’t end there. Nancy Pelosi was asked whether this would cause the Democratic party to make single-payer universal healthcare a priority in Congress and on the campaign trail.  Her answer? “No, I don’t.”
Recently it was noted that congress has an approval rating of 11% but the members of congress are re-elected at a rate of 94.6%.   There is probably no place else on Earth where one could do a job so poorly and receive such lousy grades and yet be rewarded with continual re-'appointment' other than the United States congress... and that's the truth !!!
