These people must be stopped: House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-Texas) applaud with their fellow House Republicans during a news conference following the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in the Rayburn Room at the U.S. Capitol November 16, 2017 in Washington, D.C. You don't recognize that the United States of America is your country because you haven't stood up and asserted your rights.  This is your country.
The problem is that the 'leadership', meaning those currently in control, have over-stepped their boundaries in virtually every way.  They have written laws that could not measure up to the constitution even though the 'supreme court' has endorsed the illegal laws (illegal because they do not follow the guidelines of the constitution).
We have all heard the expression, “Corporations are people, my friend".  Now, you know better than that but you stood aside as these illegal concepts have taken over in our country.  Here is a phrase, say it to yourself as many times as needed until you understand... "Corporations Are Not People".  You know it is true - say it until you believe it.  When you finally believe it, act on it.
The supreme court has protected politicians who lie to you.  The supreme court claims that “For politicians, lying is a religious observance akin to attending a church or a synagogue, except that they do it seven days a week.”  We are begging you to think.  Lying Is Not a Religion.
Congress and the courts can get away with doing anything they want to do because the people of this country allow them to get away with anything they want to do.
It's immoral that many hardworking families will have to pay more taxes.  It's immoral that ordinary Americans will not have critical services like healthcare.   It is immoral that average citizens are being sacrificed to allow some corporate executive a bigger bonus or a bigger yacht.  It is immoral to cut taxes for owners of private jets and to increase taxes on students already unable to get out of debt.  It is immoral.
In support of greater and greater corporate control, and in support of lying politicians, and in support of removing the last shreds of local community interest news sources, the government changed the rules, again, to work against you.
"The FCC just wiped away time-tested and common sense safeguards that promote vibrant local media by ensuring voters have access to competing sources of news," said Michael Copps, a former FCC commissioner and current special adviser for Common Cause. "There is no credible rationale for this odious decision which runs flagrantly afoul of the public interest."
"Any pretense that this vote will help journalism or increase ownership diversity is cynical and offensive," said Free Press president and CEO Craig Aaron, warning that the move will "lead to more mergers, more layoffs, and more communities that have no news outlets in place to cover important stories and hold officials accountable."
Also, on the same subject, Defenders of the open internet are issuing urgent calls to action as news reports indicate that Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chair Ajit Pai has set his sights on a December 14 vote to kill net neutrality and "destroy the internet as we know it."
On a slightly different subject, The U.S. government is a primary cause of the humanitarian crisis that's underway in Yemen.  We bombed the airport in the nation's capitol of Sanaa, further blocking aid from getting to Yemeni civilians.

Showing pictures of children who are starving amid what U.N. officials have called the worst famine the world has seen in decades, Senator Chris Murphy told his Senate colleagues, "This humanitarian catastrophe—this famine…is caused in part by the actions of the United States of America."

"We have a responsibility to make sure that the coalition, of which we are a part, is not using starvation as a weapon of war," said Murphy. "This is a stain on the conscience of our nation if we continue to remain silent."
Of course, we will remain silent if you do not stand up and say something.
The house of representatives (not representing you) overwhelmingly approved the nearly $700 billion that aims to boost war outlays by $80 billion—an amount that critics noted would easily cover the costs of free public college tuition and other initiatives that are frequently dismissed as too expensive.

"Flint still doesn't have drinking water, we are told we cannot have affordable single-payer, free college education is too costly, we do not have money to help the homeless, we do not have money to fix our infrastructure."  points out Matthew Battle.

The final vote tally was 357-70, with 127 Democrats joining Republicans in voting against your interests.  We can see that support for this monstrosity was 'bipartisan' meaning that, when the political parties agree, the deception is larger than usual.
And, this is your country.   These things are done in your name.  Our nation circles the globe doing the 'wrong thing' both here and there... domestically and internationally.  This is your country.
The intention here is to encourage you to stand up and be counted in the face of your well-being and that of your family being tossed aside for the benefit of the wealthy elite.  You must reverse this trend.  You must find a way to make democracy function.  Make your vote count for something.  It is that or nothing, and that's the truth !!!
