Those of us members of the hiuman species living here on planet Earth are actually in deep trouble. The planet is being changed by our own human activity and it is being changed in a manner that precludes our continuing to live here on this planet for very much longer... and we don't have any other place to go.
The evidence about this change in planetary conditions is overwhelming and is all around us. The solution is to change the way we go about doing things. But, and this is a very big but, our leadership is more interested in enriching themselves than they are in saving us or our ability to live comfortably on this planet.
The leadership either is ignorant of our situation or they pretend to be ignorant of our situation. They claim that the scientific information is not conclusive and that there is doubt about the facts. While we can always learn more, there is no doubt and the scientific information is very complete and is conclusive.
We people of planet Earth must come to some conclusions of our own very quickly. We must recognize that we are governed by a group of greedy non-scientific idiots and we must move independently to save ourselves. Or, we can emulate our leadership and prepare for our impending doom. There is not much in between, and that's the truth !!!

The Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 7,000 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization. Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives.

The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is very likely human-induced and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented in the past 1,300 years.1
Earth-orbiting satellites and other technological advances have enabled scientists to see the big picture, collecting many different types of information about our planet and its climate on a global scale. This body of data, collected over many years, reveals the signals of a changing climate.
The heat-trapping nature of carbon dioxide and other gases was demonstrated in the mid-19th century.2 Their ability to affect the transfer of infrared energy through the atmosphere is the scientific basis of many instruments flown by NASA. There is no question that increased levels of greenhouse gases must cause the Earth to warm in response.
Ice cores drawn from Greenland, Antarctica, and tropical mountain glaciers show that the Earth’s climate responds to changes in greenhouse gas levels. They also show that in the past, large changes in climate have happened very quickly, geologically-speaking: in tens of years, not in millions or even thousands.3

Global sea level rose about 17 centimeters (6.7 inches) in the last century. The rate in the last decade, however, is nearly double that of the last century.

The year 2015 was the first time the global average temperatures were 1 degree Celsius or more above the 1880-1899 average.6 Even though the 2000s witnessed a solar output decline resulting in an unusually deep solar minimum in 2007-2009, surface temperatures continue to increase.7

Extreme events Glaciers are retreating almost everywhere around the world — including in the Alps, Himalayas, Andes, Rockies, Alaska and Africa. The number of record high temperature events in the United States has been increasing, while the number of record low temperature events has been decreasing, since 1950. The U.S. has also witnessed increasing numbers of intense rainfall events.11
