Christianson Jr. In every direction one looks, it looks bleak for humanity on planet Earth.  Everything we do seems to push us toward our own doom.  Global warming caused climate change, war, development of artificial intelligence and famine and social unrest appear to lead the long list of ills we seem intent upon inflicting on ourselves.  Two things stand out - it is getting worse and we are running out of time for corrective action.   And we are not even attempting the 'corrective action' part.  All of our human action is moving us in the wrong direction. A particular move in the wrong direction is Trump out there in the world... he said, "Japan should have shot down the North Korean missiles that flew over the country before landing in the Pacific Ocean earlier this year."  The Japan Times notes that Trump "said he could not understand why a country of samurai warriors did not shoot down the missiles," despite the potentially devastating geopolitical consequences of doing so. Is he out of his mind?  Or, are we out of our minds that he is out there 'representing' us? (Photo: Sean Gallup/Getty Images) And, here at home, Rosa Maria Hernandez, a 10-year-old undocumented immigrant with cerebral palsy who was arrested by United States Border Patrol agents, was finally released from federal custody after 11 days of separation from her family.  Her parents brought her to the United States from Mexico hoping she would receive better medical treatment for her cerebral palsy.  She was being transported to the hospital for emergency gall bladder surgery when her immigration status was discovered at a border patrol checkpoint.  When an amoral legal system guides human relationships, we are done for... proof is all around us. Keith Ellison expressed the outrage over the party organ's "rigging" of the 2016 presidential primary 'election' system.  We all know that the Democratic party moved to stack the deck against Senato Bernie Sanders and in favor of Hillary Clinton. Highlighting the necessity of "real reforms," Ellison said it is Democrats' "responsibility to acknowledge that millions of Americans still feel hurt and betrayed by the events of the 2016 presidential primary." "We can't allow this idea to persist that any candidate has an inside track." He then went on with some gobbley gook about the Democratic party becoming some impartial and transparent organization that welcomes all people who share our core values of economic justice and human rights for all."  Yeah, right, and we can all believe that's what will be happening, especially those core values and all... ha! ha! These Powerful Art Illustrations ​Show How Backwards Society Really Is! from A New Kind of Human The work of a church, mosque, or temple, should first be to take care of the poor, the hungry, the left out and forgotten among us, not to indoctrinate them -- Artist Credit: Luis Quiles Here in the United States of America where we pretend to be 'Christians', one can walk in any American city and stand on a corner and see three or four 'churches' within view.  One can look more closely at the area surrounding those 'churches' and see the homeless begging.  One can honestly wonder, "What influence have these churches had in this neighborhood?  What improvements have been instituted as a result of these 'churches' being here.  What exactly have these 'churches' offered to the community in which they reside?"   It is very difficult to find anything substantial that resulted from the presence of these 'churches'.  And, they don't even pay taxes.  The 'religious' walk by, stepping past the homeless who are begging for food, right there in the shadow of that steeple with a cross on top.  And one wonders, "what do they teach in there?" the system ensures that we cannot even reach for 'freedom'... AND, there is absolutely no difference between one arm of the corporate political system or the other arm of the corporate political system... voting doesn't work... And if you did go through the process of registering to vote and obtaining the correct voter ID and then waiting in line at the polling place, you had to pick between Donald or Hillary... as if you actually wanted either of them.  But, in truth, it didn't matter because, in case the people made the 'wrong' choice, the political system reserves the final and deciding vote for those appointed to the electoral collage.  Your vote didn't matter anyway! You could have stayed away and it would all have been the same except that the illusion of democracy would fade away and the truth would be more visible. go to school, study hard and earn good grades, graduate and get a good job... If you can find one !!! And if you can't find a good job, maybe a not-so-good job?  Well, you certainly cannot depend on the social systems of this country to support you in any fashion or for any amount of time.  In the congress, they know that the fault is all yours.  You should have worked harder or worked smarter.   The 'system' has become the god we worship... and we humans have become... Here in the United States of America, home and world-wide headquarters of 'democracy', we are free to elect our own corrupt dictators.  Our leaders demand that we vote, consume more junk, fight their wars, and submit to their authority.  Fortunately for them, we seem unable to 'think', and that's the truth !!!
